 Solutions of Incivility

Right now, the whole world is suffering and battling against COVID-19. There has been a lot of chaos and shortages due to it. During this Pandemic, we can observe various incivil actions and incidents occurring in various countries. Incivil actions have created a huge amount of problems during this pandemic. People have been harassing people coming from a different race or country all due to fear of COVID-19. While black marketing of medical equipment has created a shortage of medical equipment and not only medical equipment, there has been a shortage of daily necessities. There is a whole range of discrimination, crimes, harassment, hatred right now in the streets of every country. And due to incivil actions, it has entangled the situation making it hard to contain the virus. Leaders of the countries have imposed a strict lockdown in the country which is making it very hard for low-income immigrant workers and families with low income and to implement the lockdown countries have implemented various actions by using its force and threatening their citizens. We should first understand that all human beings are created equal and we all need to be felt safe, protected, nurtured and respected. To cope with this harsh situation we can apply basic civility in our daily actions to fight against the Pandemic and the state of incivility

The most important question is how is incivility linked to all the problems that started with a virus.

As mentioned above there has been a humanitarian crisis in every part of the world. Many countries are facing shortages of medical and daily necessities. According to the Economist of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, Maximo Torero,“There’s a global famine that could start in the coming days due to measures taken by countries to fight against COVID-19”. His statement states very clearly that there is a set of problem and this problem can be linked to incivility among people. The most important question is how is incivility linked to all the problems that started with a virus. So, to make it clear there’s not only been shortages of medical and daily necessities, there is Hatred, Harassment, Abuses, Negligence, Cybercrimes, Discrimination, Losses of Personal, Social, Mental and Financials income and outcomes.

And with all these things going on it has entangled the whole situation. Africans in China are being abused, dead bodies are dumped on roadsides in Ecuador, Asian Americans are being victims of Hate incidents and Xenophobia, Indian Police using forces against offenders, Philipines President issuing death threats against offenders. Such a situation has driven people more towards taking incivil measures for survival. People are not only buying surgical masks and sanitizers for their protection but also buying arms and ammunition. Social platforms have been filled with full of incivil and racist comments, also due to fake news around social platforms, people have been stockpiling their daily necessities which have made it very hard for the elderly, disabled, poor people to be able to get their daily necessities. Misuse of social platforms has helped maximized the fear and hatred among the public. All these various problems in different platforms can be observed in every street of countries and on social platforms. There is a situation of fear among people and all those fear arise not only from COVID-19 but also from incivility.

More than half of the problem is not created by pandemic but its created by our incivil actions and orders that are set to fight against Pandemic.

We are not only battling against COVID-19 but also battling against incivility. First and foremost we should remind ourself that we all are a victim and everyone has been facing the same challenges and obstacles. More than half of the problem is not created by pandemic but its created by our incivil actions and orders that are set to fight against Pandemic. We must understand that our civil action plays a vital role in lifting our surroundings and community up during this time of Pandemic. Kindness, Compassion, Respectfulness, Responsible and friendliness does have a huge impact on controlling, preventing and treating COVID-19. These actions may be a small act of civility but it helps build up human morale and connect societies, it helps establish order and a comfortable environment. The way we approach, deal and react is responsible for a world we are living in. Setting more priority to our bubble of comfortness than communal comforts leads towards more problems. Being civil and acting civil automatically has an impression upon others creating an impact upon them resulting in them practicing civility and this carries on, which will multiply by time and effort of one’s action towards others. Words and gestures filled with compassion and kindness surely have an impact, creating a comfortable environment and these are things that are the source of motivation and positivity. If we could divert all those negativity power such as hatred, racism, discrimination towards positivity power by focusing more on cognitive growth, nurturing, promoting, protecting, collaborating. Then our outcomes from such positive energy help shed light upon darkness, by darkness we can refer it to the pandemic and ongoing incivility.

We are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic as well in the era of globalization, where everybody is somehow been exposed.

We all do have the basic knowledge of civility but it is upon us how we make use of it or ignore it. We must always be able to analyze and understand the situation that is going on around us before we react or come to a conclusion. We all have been familiar with Civility in the workplace, civility in society and social platform but civility in life should be welcomed and embraced by each one of us. We are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic as well in the era of globalization, where everybody is somehow been exposed. Understanding the very core of our global social structure and ongoing problems. We should first understand that all human beings are created equal and we all need to be felt safe, protected, nurtured and respected. To cope with this harsh situation we can apply basic civility in our daily actions to fight against the Pandemic and the state of incivility.
